Quake

Knuckle's Quake is the company's flagship instrument.

The 39.55 inch scale length is the equivalent of a 5/8 upright bass, and is designed to play a natural whole step beneath a 35 inch scale instrument. Traditional tunings benefit from the longer scale length by being able to use a thinner string to reach traditional frequencies.

Don't let her size intimidate you. The additional speaking length is pressed outward toward both the nut and the bridge, making the reach only one fret further out. As well, first position is only 1/4 inch longer than it is on a standard scale bass.

This bass is a studio musician's dream. Response is evened out across the fret board allowing for consistent technique from string to string. And because lighter string gauges can be used, there is more harmonic content to work with and less compensating that needs to be done.
