The Rim electric upright bass is one of the most maleable platforms in the bass world.

In addition to the usual fretted and fretless alternatives, the fret board can be anything from touch/tapping-flat to orchestral radiused - and bowable if so desired. The scale length can vary from 1/4 to 8/4 (36 inches to 55 inches). Where scale lengths are supported, it is possible to use either standard upright or electric bass strings on the same instrument with no modifications.
