Greater than intention...

The Quake bass was created to support a specific note on a specific occasion. Experimentation proved out a delicate balance between a myriad of factors that met our goals far beyond our expectation.

Our goals and the goals of the players that use the Quake didn't necessarily match though. When we gave flight to the Quake we found that the players that embraced the bass had intentions far beyond our imagination. It's a grand thing that we got so much right.

The Quake was originally designed to explore and facilitate tunings well below contemporary electric basses, and do it with the same tonal expectations traditional registers are held to. We were very successful.

As it turns out the Quake benefits tradition registers as well.

The longer scale length allows for greater string tension that has the feel of a traditionally scaled instrument. The higher tension and lighter gauges provide a higher harmonic content and greater natural depth at the same time.

In short the Quake is unique - in form, in feel, and in sonic performance there is nothing like it.
